I wasn't that impressed with the first book. It started well but I soon learned that I had a bumpy ride in store for me.

I enjoyed Heather's personality very much. She seemed tough but level-headed, but at times could be a little more than I could cope with. Dante, however, annoyed me to the nth degree. I couldn't help but think whether it was necessary to build his image as this very powerful creature, for it to completely crumble whenever his past and headaches were mentioned.
I personally thought that the foundation of their relationship was rather weak. If the blurb hadn't mentioned Dante, I certainly wouldn't have pegged them to become a couple.

I was also very disappointed that nothing really got resolved in this book. Yes, a few secrets came to light and was revealed, but nothing was really tied up. I actually thought that there had to be another chapter or so to be able to wrap up the first book so that it could successfully, and gently, lead it into the second novel.
I was rather disappointed with this book, overall. I promised myself to not judge it by the cover, then persuaded myself that it would improve, but to no avail.
Normally, I give author's two chances and then they're out, but this novel was so awful that it has already used up the two chances just on the one book! I won't be reading anymore books from this author.
