True_Blood_Season4_Episode_9True Blood’s last episode left viewers with another cliffhanger as Sookie got shot in the middle of the vampire witch battle. Bill knew it had happened immediately but his fear for Sookie allowed him to be trapped by the witches wielding silver chains which they wrap around his throat. Eric is under Antonia’s control so he was no help, he only does what the witch tells him to do. Will this be the end of Sookie?

Thankfully Alcide saved the day. The conundrum though was Alcide’s girlfriend, Debbie, was in the shadows watching right after she and Alcide agreed he would never help Sookie again. So, as episode nine begins, Alcide has made it back to Sookie’s house to try and save her but Bill arrives at super vampire speed to try and give her some of his healing blood. She is not drinking though and there is a moment of fear for Alcide and Bill as they actually think she might die. Enough so that Bill mentions maybe they should pray.

Having Bill’s blood again does finally save her but there are some interesting consequences as she later starts to have dreams of both Eric and Bill having their way with her – basically it’s a threesome – and Sookie is the one in control. It seems at least in her dreams she wants to have her cake and eat it too (no pun intended…).

Alcide finally washes his hands of Sookie when she recovers and demands everyone start looking for Eric. She never seems to learn but it certainly makes Alcide angry. Debbie shows up at Sookie’s door and forms an uneasy alliance with Sookie. Debbie’s job is to break into the magic shop with her to try and rescue Eric.

Lafayette has been possessed by the ghost woman, Mavis, and she stole Arlene’s son right out from under the nose of Andy, Terry and Arlene. Lafayette/Mavis also took Andy’s gun during the kidnapping process and ends up shooting at Jason and Andy when they come to get back Mikey. This leads to a showdown outside the house where Hoyt lives because that was the house the ghost lived in when she was alive.

Jesus arrives and tries to convince Mavis that she has taken over a man’s body and that it is not hers to keep. This whole side story with Mavis confused me at first before I finally realized that all Mavis wants is closure for herself and her baby who was taken away from her. She simply wanted to see her son again and she finally understands what she has done – taken another’s woman’s baby away – and she gives baby Mikey back to Arlene. Jesus and the crew find Mavis and her son buried under a tree and they hand the skeleton of her son over to her. She cradles the baby skeleton and this gives Mavis some closure and she disappears. I guess that’s the end of that storyline. Will Mikey be normal now? Will we have to see that ugly baby doll again?

Jason goes to visit Hoyt and finds him packing a monster box for Jessica. All of her belongings are in it and Hoyt tells Jason to give it to her. Jason is reluctant at first but finally agrees. His primal side cannot resist Jessica as they get it on in the back of his truck. Whew – I was worried there was going to be a woman in Bon Temps that Jason hadn’t slept with, I guess that worry is over.

Tommy impersonates Sam to meet with Marcus and gets his butt whooped for his brother. I suppose this is his way of atoning for sleeping with Luna when he impersonated Sam. He looks pretty bad, they kept kicking him when he was down. If Alcide hadn’t intervened, I’m sure they would have killed him.

The Tolerance Festival begins and I have to admit even I was sort of glad when the witch attack began, this episode was getting kind of boring. Sookie shows up screaming Bill’s name to warn him but she’s probably to late since Antonia has Eric on her side now. Can Bill survive this latest attack?

Season 3_Episode 9Eric has done it now…killing Talbot means Russell will never rest until Talbot is avenged and Eric knows the king is coming after him. This week’s episode of True Blood starts with Eric racing to his vampire bar as quickly as possible so he and Pam can make a getaway but those plans are quickly ruined when Nan Flanagan and her cadre of enforcers arrive. The problem is that they are not there to save anybody, they want to know what happened to the Magister and Eric is going to have to give them the information they seek if he wants to continue to live. He tells them everything about Russell’s deeds – including the killing of Eric’s own father so many years before.

Bill and Sookie waste no time reconciling after the werewolves’ attempt on her life. They finally wrap up their antics and begin to gather up the werewolf bodies but not before an intimate shower to get some of that blood off from their busy, busy night – looks like Sookie shared a lot of her special blood with her vampire.

Felton knows that Jason has done something with Crystal so he goes to Jason’s house to find out. He confronts Jason as he arrives home and just as the fight begins, Crystal comes out of nowhere to knock Felton out cold. They tie him up and decide to frame him for drug dealing by putting V on him and placing his body where the authorities will find him later.

Sam is reminded of how wonderful his new family is – NOT – when he gets a noise complaint call about his brother and he leaves to take care of it. He arrives to find Tommy having very loud sex with a lady friend and asks him to keep it down but he just receives a smart-ass reply in return. Sam maintains his composure but you can see that he’s on the edge of telling his new brother to beat it.

The arrest of Felton did not go the way Jason and Crystal planned because the responding officer ends up in the hospital and Felton is nowhere to be found. Crystal and Jason arrive at the police station to tell Andy that maybe it is time to take down Hotshot and get rid of all the problems they are causing with their drug running and meth labs.

Hadley finally confesses to Sookie about her part in the betrayal of her cousin and her powers. She apologizes profusely as she tells Sookie that she told the vampire queen all about her. Now Hadley is terrified that her own son has these same powers and asks Sookie to find out. Sookie immediately realizes that he does and Hadley panics – realizing that the vampires will be after him too.

Merlotte’s is full of people and all their special issues. Arlene accuses Tommy of stealing her tips and he goes off on her – upsetting her greatly. She confesses her baby fears to Holly who comes to check up on her as she is crying in Sam’s office. Arlene relays her actual feelings about the baby out loud for the first time. Lafayette serves Jesus a great dinner and Hoyt once again is trying to get his former vampire girlfriend, Jessica, back.

Apparently too much of Sookie’s blood is not necessarily a good thing for a vampire as Bill begins to dream about Claudine and the world of the fey. Bill finally finds out what Sookie is and goes to her as soon as possible to tell her.

Russell is losing what grip he had on reality as he perches on top of a roof holding Talbot’s remains in a jar – lovely, nothing like a vampire soup. He hears Nan tell Eric that they want Russell dead and it is his job to do it. If he does not succeed in killing Russell, it is likely that things will not go so well for Eric in the future.

Jason and Crystal show up at Merlottes to have some fun and they seem to be having an okay time of it until Calvin shows up and picks a fight with Sam. Sam loses it and almost beats him to death before he is stopped. Lafayette has to help get Calvin out of there and to the hospital. Jason expects Crystal to stay with him after the way her father has treated her but instead she leaves to go to the hospital with Calvin – leaving Jason behind to wonder what on earth is going on – where are her priorities?

Tara is seeing all of this commotion with Calvin from the parking lot just as Franklin grabs her to finish off the one thing he loved – Tara. Since she tried to kill him, he will never forgive her betrayal. The interesting thing is when she turns to him screaming that he should just go ahead and kill her, he hesitates. And that is long enough for Jason to come to her rescue and skewer Franklin. Tara is finally free.

True Blood wraps up this week with Russell losing his last grip on sanity as he shows up on the national news to inform the world that vampires will always be superior to humans – humans are nothing but food to them – and he proceeds to rip out the heart of the news anchor for all the world to see.

Season 3_Episode 8When the last True Blood episode ended, Sookie was just waking up from a coma and she started screaming when she saw her vampire fiancée standing there. This week starts with her calmed down enough to tell Bill that they can never be together – it’s just to dangerous. He’s devastated but he knows she’s right and with bloody tears falling down his face, he leaves.

The nuptials are over for Russell and Sophie Ann and it’s time for the newlyweds to move in together. The new living situation is not sitting well with Talbot but Russell has other things to deal with. Debbie is in the library, insane with rage and frustration, because she wants to kill Sookie but Russell says no – he needs Sookie. But he will allow some play time for Debbie with Sookie when they capture her. Talbot is still complaining about Sophie Anne and an irritated Russell tells Eric to keep his vampire boyfriend company for him while he is gone.

Sookie’s at home resting and being protected by her wolf bodyguard, Alcide. Jason and Andy show up ready to fight – they want Sookie to have Bill arrested for the draining event but she refuses and Jason leaves, incensed enough to think he will kill vampire Bill himself. Alcide receives news that his ex, Debbie, has burned down his sister’s salon and he rushes off to Jackson. This leaves Sookie all alone…

Lafayette returns home to find his mother Ruby waiting, spouting her doom and gloom about his future. She wails about vampires coming to take him and how he is going to die. Thankfully Jesus gets there before she goes too crazy and he takes her back home. It is the first time they have seen each other since Jesus found out he was a drug dealer and Lafayette is very happy to see him. He promises he is never dealing V again and that earns him a kiss.

Jason is at home desperately looking for one of his old vampire killing weapons. Just as he starts to leave, Crystal shows up looking like she’s run for miles. She tells Jason that she does not want to marry Felton and she had to leave home to get away from them. The moment is a perfect for a quickie and that is exactly what he gets.

Arlene is interviewing new waitresses and the latest one seems to have simply “known” that she was pregnant. It creeps her out but she overlooks it – they really need help in the bar. Tara is crying in the office as she remembers the good times with Franklin – perhaps she regrets smashing his head flat. Tommy gets in a bar fight with Hoyt over Jessica so Sam tries to give him some brotherly advice about how to handle his future but, as with most advice, it does not go over well.

Eric knows where Russell has gone so he sends Hadley to warn Sookie. As Hadley is warning her about the danger, she suddenly stops and tells Sookie that she is so sorry and just leaves without saying anything further.

Crystal’s family comes to Merlotte’s looking for her. Sam and Tommy smell something funny about them while her family appears to immediately know that Sam and Tommy are shifters. Sam tells them to leave and the tension is released. When Calvin and Felton arrive home, they find Jason sneaking around. He lies and says that he is with the police, investigating a case and they had better back off of Crystal. Calvin does not hurt him but warns him there will be more to come.

The werewolf pack is at Sookie’s place attacking her house with Debbie in the lead. She chases Sookie upstairs as Bill and Jessica show up to help. Sookie seems to be more than a match for Debbie as she stabs her in the face with a pair of scissors and Debbie escapes just as Bill and Jessica finish off the other wolves downstairs. Things seem to be under control until Russell comes out of nowhere and puts Jessica in a choke hold that even a vampire cannot escape. Bill begs him to spare her life and Russell decides that he will kill Bill instead. Just as he was about to deliver the death blow, Russell can feel the pain of his true love, Talbot, as Eric murders him back at the mansion. Russell forgets everything and flies back to Jackson to find Talbot, who’s now a gruesome pile of blood and goo on the floor. Bill races upstairs to check on Sookie and finds her safe. But, they are both so amped up from the fight that they come together and begin a serious love fest that knows no end as episode eight of True Blood ends.

Season 3_Episode 7The True Blood episode from last week left us with Lorena taking a serious bite from Sookie’s neck and as Lorena drinks, she is amazed at how wonderful it tastes. Her joy is short lived because Bill, in his weakened condition, wraps his silver chains around Lorena which gives Sookie a chance to drive a stake into her heart. Finally, Bill is free from his vampire maker.

Tara and Alcide enter just in time to warn Sookie that the pack is on their tail. She will not leave Bill there dying so they wrap him up for protection from the sun and begin to leave. Unfortunately, Debbie shows up and she’s pointing a gun at them. Alcide rushes to the rescue and takes the gun from her but then Coot shows up trying to stop them. Alcide kills him, leaving Debbie screaming in grief as they run out of the room with the pack right behind them.

Hoyt and Jason are sitting around talking about their horrid love lives. Jason is depressed about Crystal and Hoyt is depressed about Jessica, his vampire love. Hoyt suggests that Jason talk to the meth dealer at the town jail to find out more about Crystal’s situation. Hoyt has a visitor, Summer, who show up to profess her love and give him some home cooking.

Sam has spent the evening driving around looking for the dogfights that he heard about. He sees a group of redneck types looking suspicious but is turned away. He shifts into a dog and lets one of them leash him and take him into the dog compound.

Sophie, the vampire queen, is still imprisoned in her home with Hadley, her human consort. Eric is curious why the queen sent Bill to spy on Sookie. Sophie refuses to tell but finally. after being threatened, Hadley tells him what he wants to know.

Bill is nearly dead in the back of Alcide’s van so Sookie proceeds to give him some of her blood. This has such a profound effect on Bill that he wakes up in an animal-like vampire state and drains Sookie almost to the point of death. Tara freaks out at what he has done to her best friend and throws him out into the sun –guaranteed death to a vampire. Bill is expecting to die but – to his amazement – he is standing in the sun completely unharmed.

Sam turns back into a human once he’s inside the dog compound and he lets all of the animals go. He walks out to where the dog fights are going on and sees Joe Lee and Melinda watching Tommy, in pit bull form, fighting another pit bull. Now we know where he got all those scars on his body. He stops the fight and tells Tommy he can dump these useless parents forever and come live with him. Tommy actually agrees and leaves with Sam.

Eric and Russell go to Fangtasia to take care of the Magister who has been torturing Pam for information. Russell forces the Magister to marry him to Sophie, creating the ultimate vampire couple, and then kills him after the wedding.

Jason goes to the jail to talk to the meth dealer about Crystal. He will not tell Jason anything without a favor – he needs a hit of meth and Jason is going to have to get it for him. Jason goes to Merlottes to ask Lafayette for meth but he refuses to help. Jason is stopped from pursuing the matter when he finds out that
Sookie is in the hospital after being drained by vampire Bill. When he arrives, he finds that she has slipped into a coma from lack of blood and no transfusion will work – her body rejects the hospital’s blood. Sookie herself is dreaming about a beautiful meadow full of dancing happy people asking her to join them. Just as she is about to take them up on their offer, a darkness falls over the beauty and everyone runs but not before warning her to not let “him” have her light. Wonder who “him” is?

Bill arrives and offers to give her his vampire blood to save her life. Tara is adamant that this will not happen but Jason, desperate for something to save his sister, says okay and Bill hooks himself directly to her IV. It has the desired effect as Sookie begins to awaken and when she sees Bill, she screams bloody murder. Not the reaction anyone was expecting.

Season 3_Episode 6Russell’s glee from the last episode of True Blood is short lived as Bill and Sookie try to escape from Russell’s house. Bill stakes a guard and tries to shoot Russell but to no avail. Russell orders Lorena to kill Bill while Sookie is on the sidelines watching all of this transpire, trying to get Eric to help her. He quickly lets her know she means nothing to him and don’t involve him in her mess. Russell takes Sookie back to his office after they lock up Bill to question her about her strange power. He wants to know what she is and he’s being very cordial to her. When she tries to ask to many questions, the pleasantries end. He wants to know what she is and she better tell him now.

Last week, we left Jason and Crystal getting to know each other in the woods and the fun continues until she pushes him away and tells him that they cannot be….ever. She also tells him it is best for everyone involved if they do not see each other again as she runs away. Jason goes to her house only to find that she has a fiancé – and it’s Felton, her half brother….

At Russell’s mansion, Lorena is torturing Bill and she is showing absolutely no mercy – vampires can last a long time. He tells her that she has lost all of her humanity and that at one time she must have been a decent person. He knows the torture her own maker put her through and he wants her to know that it’s sad he could not have known her before she was ruined. This makes her torture him that much more.

Tara has decided that it is better to catch flies with honey and she starts begging Franklin to let her drink from him. He likes her begging and she begins to drink his vampire blood, making him trust her. Once Tara realizes that Sookie has been captured, she begins to think very hard that she is going to try to escape – hoping that Sookie will pick up her thoughts.

Eric and Talbot are getting very chummy playing cards and flirting until Russell shows up to take Eric out for a while. He tells Eric that he has been using wolves to do his dirty work for a long time and he plans on using them to take over the world. He does not care about any other vampires.

Jesus and Lafayette are at Lafayette’s place continuing their conversation when they hear noises outside. It turns out that Felton, who had been dealing V, is getting revenge for the fight with Eric on last week’s True Blood. Felton trashes Lafayette’s car but they fight him off. Unfortunately, Jesus finds out that Lafayette is a V dealer and it’s a definite deal breaker for Jesus who does not want to live that kind of life.

Eric assumed when Russell took him out that they were going to take care of the Magister but Russell has other ideas. He drove to the Vampire Queen’s house with Eric and forced his way into it. Eric, seeing the superior power of Russell, no longer follows the Queen’s orders and lets it happen. Russell proposes marriage to her and offers to pay her debts. Who could pass up such a sweet deal? She agrees, but just to be sure she does not go back on her word, they hold her captive in her own home.

Lorena has spent a lot of time torturing Bill and his vampire blood is everywhere. Debbie and Coot show up needing V and there it is – all over the room. Normally, Lorena would have thrown them out but, to continue the torture, she allows them to drink directly from Bill.

Sam is trying to get to the bottom of what is going on between Tommy and Joe Lee. He thinks Tommy is about to tell him the truth when Melinda knocks on the door. She is angry at Tommy that he has not done what his father told him to do. Later, Tommy does not show up to work and Sam finds out that he left with his mom earlier. This immediately worries Sam because he also finds out that there has been some dog fighting going on in the area. He immediately jumps in his truck to find out if Tommy is involved.

As Franklin is sleeping, Tara takes the chance to grab a big weapon and smash his head flat, and I mean flat – can a vampire survive that? Tara frees Sookie, who irritatingly risks everything once again to find Bill. She finds him close to death and as she tries to help him, Lorena attacks her and takes a big chunk out of her neck and this episode of True Blood ends with all of us wondering – how will Sookie survive this latest trauma?

Season 3_Episode 4True Blood opens with Sookie mending the wounds that Alcide received trying to defend her in the werewolf bar. Alcide is none too pleased with his performance as a bodyguard and Sookie reminds him that all the werewolves were high on V. Alcide’s ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt, is now engaged to Coot and he is worried about her new lifestyle and the way she has changed. As Alcide is having a heart to heart with Sookie about his love life, she gets the call she’s been waiting for so desperately – it’s Bill – but he’s not calling to tell her he’s okay, he’s calling to break up with her. Sookie is devastated and Alcide tries to console her, but you can see that she is just crushed.

Tara calls Sookie, trying to locate her. As upset as Sookie is, she can’t talk and Tara finds out nothing. This enrages Franklin, the latest vampire to join the show, and he takes a big bite out of Tara, tying her to the toilet for more fun and games later on.

Bill hangs up from his dreaded breakup call only to find his vampire maker Lorena smirking behind him and he reminds her once again that no matter what happens, he will never love her. She tries to sooth him but that just gets her a smack in the face hard enough to throw her out into the hall.

Eric is back at Fangtasia watching Yvette dance for him but he begins to fantasize about Sookie. He sees himself floating outside Sookie’s bedroom window as she comes to him – inviting him in – but his fantasy is disturbed when Yvette asks if she is boring him.

In the last week’s True Blood episode, Sam found Tommy in pit bull form trashing his office and this week has Sam running outside with a gun to find him. Instead, he finds his mother in the parking lot where they have set up camp. She tries to defend her youngest son by saying he does this sort of thing when they are down and out.

Sookie is still reeling from the phone call with Bill but she is determined to find her vampire because she knows he did not mean it. Alcide thinks she is crazy but there is no stopping the determined Sookie. She plans to return to the werewolf bar for more information but since they know her now, Alcide has his sister come over and put Sookie into a biker chick disguise. Alcide is a reluctant to go until Sookie tells him that not only is Debbie engaged to Coot, but she is also going to become part of their pack and this spurs Alcide to return to the bar.

Bud is retiring and the town is giving him a party at Merlottes which leaves Andy as sheriff. Arlene is swamped with work and needs more help so Sam brings in vampire Jessica as a hostess to help her. This actually has the opposite effect that Sam was expecting – Arlene proceeds to get mad at the new competition.

Lafayette has gone to Calvin Norris to sell the V that Eric needs to get rid of but Calvin refuses to buy it. Instead they turn on Lafayette and just when things look like the end for him, Eric swoops in and saves him. Sadly, they did not get rid of all of it and when the Magister shows up at Fangtasia while Eric was gone, he finds the remaining V. Pam calls Eric to let him know they’ve got a major problem but by the time he gets there, the Magister is busy torturing Pam.

Sam knows how hard his family has it so when he finally finds Tommy sleeping in the woods he offers him a job and a place to sleep. This includes letting his parents live in his rental property. But, he insists that they must all straighten up and fly right.

Sookie is now ready with her disguise and she and Alcide go Lou Pine’s to mingle and get information. It seems to be going well with Sookie doing shots at the bar until Debbie sidles up to the bar to threaten Sookie. This of course brings Coot over and Alcide jumps in to defend Sookie once again. Just as Coot and Alcide are about to duke it out, Russell shows up on stage with an open vein and shot glasses for all the werewolves. I guess we know who the vampire supplying the V is now. Sookie has to run out before the werewolves realize she cannot shift.

Bill and Lorena are outside the bar waiting for Russell to return. Bill has glamoured a girl into complete willingness and when Russell gets into the limo and sees the tasty morsel, all three vampires bite into her together as she screams in agony. Quite a nasty way to end True Blood, 9 Crimes.
