Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books were probably the very first female vampire hunter books I ever read. Anita was smart, strong, and took no crap from anyone. I was completely fascinated with these books. The main characters and their relationships with one another were believable (Jean Claude is hot) and the action and suspense were well written and evenly paced.
Although the series changed over time, the first books in the series are fantastic. I’m glad to see that a box set is now available.
The first 4 books in the series are included in the box set:
- • Guilty Pleasures
- • The Laughing Corpse
- • Circus of the Damned
- • The Lunatic Cafe
If you like urban fantasy or vampire books with strong heroines (like the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris or the Rachel Morgan books by Kim Harrison) you’ll definitely love the Anita Blake books. These books are action-packed, adventurous, and totally entertaining. You’ll have a hard time putting them down once you start reading.
Get the box set now on sale for $20.13. That’s only 5 bucks per book!
